My Crochet Story

My Granny taught me the basics of crochet when I was around 8 years old. I still have no idea how she had the patience to teach me with all of us grandkids running around, but I’ll always be grateful she did.

Crochet has stayed with me through every season of life. It has been comfort, creativity, and a way to slow down when life feels overwhelming.

Over the years, I’ve grown in this craft in ways I never would have imagined as a little girl. Back then, I just thought it was the coolest thing that Granny could make something out of string.

Life is busy, and crochet has always given me a place to slow down, be intentional, or simply sit and stitch for a while.

And somewhere along the way, crochet became a way for me to create things that were both useful and beautiful by hand.

That quiet kind of transformation is part of what inspired Magick Hook Crochet.

Crochet as a Gentle Ritual

For many of us, crochet becomes more than a craft. It becomes a  moment of calm in the middle of busy days. For me, it’s one of my happiest places right alongside a good book.

Sometimes the magick is simply:

    • choosing a yarn color that feels right
    • crocheting in a quiet (or chaotic) moment
    • creating something with intention

Many of my designs are inspired by cozy traditions, symbolism, and the small rituals that make everyday life feel a little more meaningful.

You don’t need candles or crystals to enjoy that feeling. A hook, some yarn, and a few peaceful minutes are more than enough.

What’s Coming Next

Over the next few weeks, I’ll be sharing a mix of beginner-friendly tutorials and simple patterns to help you build confidence one project at a time.
